Charges against an Austin man for stalking and following a vehicle too closely were dropped on Thursday in exchange for a plea agreement.

Gregory Robert Soderberg, 38, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor DWI from a June 26 case. A 72-year-old woman says Soderberg got behind her, erratically drove around her, squealed his tires and showed her his middle finger. She also said Soderberg stopped, waited and followed her again, according to the court complaint. The victim said she was scared and did not want to go home, as she thought Soderberg would follow her, so she called police.

Police eventually stopped Soderberg north of Austin while he was turning his truck around. A breath test later revealed he had a blood-alcohol content of .14.
