Living an entire life with polio wasn’t easy for one Blooming Prairie woman, but she used that experience to offer some insight and inspiration for others through her new book.

Linda Christianson, 64, released “All the Steps I’ve Taken” in August, and she’ll be in Austin to sign, sell and talk about her book from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the Austin Public Library.

Christianson said “All the Steps I’ve Taken” chronologically details her life with polio, from diagnosis at just several months to breaking through barriers her entire life. By reading Guidepost Magazine’s inspirational stories, Christianson found the motivation to write her own story. She says she wrote the book to inspire.

While there have always been things she couldn’t do well, Christianson focuses on what she can do, such as ride a bike. She has been married for 43 years and has three children and eight grandchildren.

“I’ve done so well,” she said.

Inspiring Voices Publishing published the book for Christianson on Aug. 7, and the book is available at that company’s website, inspiringvoices.com, for $10.
