Athletics sweep Schaeffer Academy

ROCHESTER — The Lyle-Pacelli volleyball team beat Schaeffer Academy (0-12 overall)by scores of 25-13, 25-20, 25-15 on the road Thursday.

The Athletics (6-9 overall, 4-2 SEC) served a total of 13 aces in the win and they did a solid job of returning Schaeffer’s serves.

“They had a couple of good servers and we only had three errors on serve return all night,” LP head coach Lindsay Leif said.

LP now has one more win than it had all of last season and the Athletics still have six more matches on their schedule.

“The girls are playing at such a high level and they’re really starting to believe they can compete with the good teams in our conference,” Leif said. “I don’t think they’ve thought that for a long time.”
