Hayfield falls to Lake City

HAYFIELD — The Hayfield football team got off to a slow start as it lost to Lake City (1-1 overall) 35-13 in Hayfield Friday.
The Vikings (0-2 overall) trailed 28-0 after the first quarter as Lake City blocked a punt and had long kick and punt returns to set up scores.
“We took care of things a lot better in the second half, and it’s something to build for next week,” Hayfield head coach Andrew Weiers said.
