Ryan and Katie Hulshizer were united in marriage on Sept. 24, 2011, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin with Rev. Glen Monson officiating.

Katie is the daughter of Darol and Sandra Heard of Austin and the granddaughter of Beryl Madson of Austin. Ryan is the son of Ronald and Marcia Hulshizer of Otranto, Iowa.

Assisting Katie in the wedding were her maid of honor, Allison Heard and her bridesmaids: Erin

Heard, Richelle Heard, and Nicole Andrews. Assisting Ryan in the wedding were his best man, Aaron Sasse and his groomsmen: Hans Finanger, Emerson Adams, and Alex Kagarmanov.

Blake Heard served as the ring bearer and Sydnee Stolzenberg served as the flower girl. Ushers were Grant Koch, Matthew Haugen, Lindsey Soshnik and Kevin Madson. Music was provided by organist William Kuhlman, pianist Greg Bishop and vocalists Michael Veldman and Erin Schumacher.

A reception and dance was held at the Carpenter Community Center in Carpenter, Iowa.

Ryan and Katie enjoyed a honeymoon to Germany, Switzerland and Italy in June of 2012.

Katie is a registered nurse at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin. Ryan is an agent in insurance and financial services with Farm Bureau Financial Services in Northwood, Iowa. They have made their home in Northwood, and are expecting a child on their first wedding anniversary, Sept. 24, 2012.
