A children’s movie was interrupted Sunday when an Austin man allegedly strangled his brother until he nearly passed out.

Police arrested Verne Olson, 25, after he allegedly choked his 23-year-old brother for waking him. According to the police report, officers went to the 300 block of 37th Street SW in Austin at about 12:15 p.m. The victim, a woman and a 12-year-old girl were reportedly watching a movie, “The Brave Little Toaster.” The victim and woman reportedly began tickling the girl, which woke and angered Olson. An argument escalated to fighting, a 911 call and Olson’s arrest, according to the report. Police photographed marks on the victim’s neck.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said Olson may be charged with felony domestic assault for strangulation.
