Blue Sox advance to supersections

The Austin Blue Sox punched their ticket to the Super Section tournament when they beat the Rochester Royals 5-4 in 10 innings in Marcusen Park Saturday.

Brian Voigt picked up the win by pitching nine innings while allowing just one earned run. Voigt also knocked in the winning run in the top of the tenth with a bloop single to score John Kirby, who doubled to start the frame.

The Blue Sox (16-17 overall) and Austin Greyhounds will open the Super-Section tournament Friday.
