Steele wins ACC Ladies Invitational

Austin Country Club held its 20th annual Ladies Invitational Tournament June 18-20 and Cheryl Steele of Bunker Hills Golf Course won the 86-player invite.

Steele finished with a score of 171 in the 36-hole tournament.

Sheri Newhouse was the highest finishing ACC member as she took second in the fourth flight with a score of 194.

Natalie Baudler of ACC won the fifth flight with a 197, Lavonne Brinkman of CC won the seventh flight with a 215 and Mary Wadding of ACC won the eighth flight with a 233.

Golfers came from Minnesota and Wisconsin and as far away as Florida and Kentucky.

Third flight: Patty Lage, Woodlands Club (first, 175); Annette French, North Oaks (second, 193); Lois Payment, Bunker Hills (third, 194)

Fourth flight: Reggie Stone, Oak Glen (first, 194); Sheri Newhouse, Austin CC (second, 194); Gerrie Zecher, Forest Hills (third, 195)

Fifth flight: Natalie Baudler, Austin CC (first, 197); Jan Hahn, Big Fish (second, 198); Kris Wedl, Ma-Cal-Grove (third, 204)
