The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Mower County until 8 p.m., along with Dodge, Winona, Fillmore, Olmsted, Houston and Wabasha counties.

The NWS says thunderstorms will become more numerous this afternoon and could become severe at times. Heavy rain, lightning, hail and gusty winds are expected.
