NWS predicting a steamy FourthPublished 12:11pm Monday, July 2, 2012
The heat is on for this holiday week.
Extreme heat will likely linger for the entire week, according to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wis. The NWS is expecting a high of 95 Monday and Tuesday and a high of 97 on Wednesday, July 4.
“That’s the screaming message right there,” said Dave Schmidt, NWS meteorologist.
Schmidt said dew points will remain in the 60s and 70s with heat indices from 95 to 105 degrees. Schmidt added there is a very slight chance of isolated storms on the Fourth of July.
