Joe Huffman went the distance on the mound as the Austin Greyhounds swept the season series from the Rosemount Black Sox with an 8-3 on the road Saturday.

Huffman struck out seven and didn’t allow a walk, while scattering eight hits in the win.

“Joe kept their offense in check and they really didn’t threaten,” Hounds manager John Frein said.

The Hounds padded a 4-3 lead in the top of the eighth inning when they tacked on four runs with two outs.

The Hounds will have this week off before playing the Austin Blue Sox in Marcusen Park Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Hounds will host the US Military All-Stars with a pre-game ceremony beginning at 6:30 p.m. The tickets at the gate will cost $7, but pre-sale tickets are currently available at Hy-Vee or the YMCA for $5.
