NEW RICHLAND — The Hayfield Legion baseball team beat La Crescent 7-5 in the First District semifinals in New Richland Thursday.

Hayfield (14-5 overall) will now play the winner of Lake City and Stewartville in New Richland Saturday at 10 a.m.

Tyler Nelson was 3-for-3 with two doubles and he pitched two and one thirds of inning without allowing a run for Hayfield, and Jason Born went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the win.
