1 more day of heat for southern Minnesota

Southern Minnesota is expected to get one more day of heat and humidity before a reprieve.

The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning through 7 p.m. Friday for much of the southern part of the state. Highs are expected to be in the upper 90s in the south.

Meteorologists predicted mostly cloudy conditions with showers and thunderstorms in the northern part of the state, with highs in the 70s.

Temperatures on Saturday and Sunday were expected to be in the upper 70s to mid 80s in Minnesota, with a chance of thunderstorms in the southeastern part of the state Saturday and in the northeast on Sunday.
