Mittag strikes out 10 as Blue Sox win

ROCHESTER — The Austin Blue Sox picked up their first win of the amateur baseball season as Jon Mittag struck out 10 in a 10-3 win over the Rochester Roadrunners on the road Wednesday.

The Blue Sox (1-6 overall) tallied five runs in the seventh inning to break open the game.

“Jon kept us in the game and threw a ton of strikes,” Blue Sox manager Josh Kunze said. “We were in control throughout.”
