First Team

Catcher — Dani Wagner, Hayfield

The All-State sophomore led the area in extra base hits as she hit .606 with 7 homers, 8 doubles, 3 triples, 23 RBI and 25 runs. Wagner had an on-base percentage of .642 and was 21-for-22 on steals for the Vikings (10-12 overall).

First base — Abbey Ball, Austin

The sophomore hit .403 as she finished with 9 doubles, 18 RBI and 10 runs for the Packers (7-14 overall). Ball also went 5-9 with a 5.34 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 76 innings.

Second base — Lindsey Bottema, Southland

The senior hit .451 with 1 homerun, 1 double, 2 triples and 14 RBI as she scored 19 runs for the Rebels (9-13 overall).

Shortstop — Jenna Krell, Blooming Prairie

The junior was solid on defense and she also hit .400 with an on-base percentage of .495. Krell had 1 double, 5 triples, 1 homer, 24 RBI, 30 runs, and she went 21-for-21 on steals.

Third base — Tricia DeBoer, BP

The All-State senior was a prototypical lead-off hitter as she hit .515 with an on-base percentage of .551 while going 48-for-53 on steals and scoring 41 runs. DeBoer also tallied 5 doubles, 4 triples, 1 homerun and 10 RBI for BP (22-4 overall).

DeBoer, who plans on playing at Division I University of North Dakota next season, finishes her BP career with 193 hits and 152 stolen bases.

Outfield — Katelyn Joseph, Austin

The senior hit .359 and had an on-base percentage of .411 with 2 doubles, 8 RBI, 8 runs and 9 stolen bases. Joseph was a solid force in center field for the Packers as she committed just two errors all season.

Outfield — Megan Mullenbach, Southland

The junior hit .386 with 1 triple, 1 double 18 RBI and 23 runs while stealing 15 bases.

Outfield — Sam Ivers, BP

The junior hit .319 with an on-base percentage of .444. She had 5 doubles, 1 homer, 14 RBI, scored 19 runs and was 15-for-18 on steals.

Pitcher — Shelbi Swenson, BP

The All-State junior broke BP’s school record for strikeouts in a season (235) as she helped lead the Blossoms to a second place finish in the Class ‘A’ state softball tournament. Swenson maintained an ERA of .993, while allowing 103 hits and 46 walks in 176 and a one-thirds innings.

Swenson was also a force at the plate as she hit .386 with an on-base percentage of .453. She finished with 4 homeruns, 7 doubles, 1 triple and 23 RBI to go along with 23 runs.

 Honorable Mention

Danielle Tschann, catcher, Austin

The senior hit .375 with 2 doubles, 4 RBI, and 5 runs. She was also a strong force behind the plate as she committed just one error on the season.

Tschann plans on playing softball at the University of St. Thomas next season.

Hunter Henderson, catcher, BP

The senior hit .419 with an on-base percentage of .510 as she finished with 11 doubles and 20 RBI.

Kelli Smith, outfield, Southland

The senior hit .359 with 1 homer, 7 doubles, and 20 RBI to go along with 16 runs scored. She also stole 5 bases.

Haley Kirkpatrick, catcher, Southland

The junior was solid on defense and she hit .364 with 5 doubles, 1 triple and 19 RBI.

Haley Kiefer, outfield, Southland

The sophomore hit .360 with 1 homerun, 4 doubles, 2 triples, 17 RBI and 8 stolen bases.

Sydney Murphy, catcher/shortstop, Austin

The freshman hit .322 with 2 doubles, 3 RBI, 11 runs and 8 stolen bases.

Marie Clennon, pitcher, Austin

Clennon went 2-4 with a save and an ERA of 4.93 as she struck out 37 in 49.2 innings. She also hit .315 with 2 doubles, 13 RBI and 6 runs scored.

Meg Tapp, first base, Hayfield

The senior hit .368 with an on-base percentage of .426 as she had 4 doubles, 19 RBI and 13 runs scored.

Abby Blanchard, shortstop, Hayfield

The senior hit .283 with an on-base percentage of .358 as she tallied 2 homers, 12 RBI, 17 runs and was 15-for-17 on steals.
