Herald launches interactive comment section

Published 1:29pm Monday, June 25, 2012

Austindailyherald.com is giving readers more ways to share their thoughts.mothers

The Herald launched a more interactive blog section Monday, called Disqus, which allows readers to comment easily through Google, Facebook, Twitter, other social media or a Disqus account.

Bloggers now have the option of sorting comments chronologically or by popularity, “liking” comments, viewing and commenting on replies to their posts, editing their profile and much more.

To comment, readers can log into their Google, Facebook, Twitter or other social media accounts, or sign up for a Disqus account by clicking “Login” at the top of the comment section and then “Register a new Disqus profile.”

I really like this feature but am very disappointed with the constant polls that are requried to be filled out before one has access to a story.  For the record, I just quickly click on whatever options there are without even reading them so they’re not reliable.

I just click off the Herald when I can’t get to a story.  Guess it’s free so I shouldn’t complain too much.  Herald advertisers might not like me clicking off, however.  Bye
