Austin softball coach resignsPublished 8:01pm Friday, June 8, 2012
Austin head softball coach Tina Strauss announced her resignation.
Strauss said it was a tough decision but she wants to see the Packers improve.
“I put my heart and soul into that program and I gave everything I was capable of,” she said. “I think I brought it as far as I’m capable of and it’s time for somebody else to take them to the next level.”
Austin finished 7-14 this season and it never won a postseason game under Strauss, who said she is not planning on giving up coaching.
“I learned a lot and I’m grateful for the experience,” Strauss said. “I’m looking forward to putting it to use.”
Strauss said she will look back fondly on her relationships with her players and assistant coaches as she moves on.
“It’s been very rewarding,” Strauss said.
