The Riverland softball team closed out its season with an 11-1 loss in six innings and an 8-3 loss to St. Cloud Tech in Riverland Saturday.

RCC head coach Al Eckmann said he was pleased with the effort his team gave him throughout the season, even though many of them were playing out of position.

“I was happy our kids never, ever quit,” Eckmann said. “I am so proud of what they did.”

RCC center fielder Rachel Donovan, an Austin grad, had 12 put outs between the two games.

The Blue Devils (6-31 overall) didn’t qualify for the postseason as they finished last in the MCAC Southern Division.
