The National Weather Service of La Crosse, Wis., has issued a tornado watch for Mower County through 10 p.m.

Other counties in the watch are Dodge, Fillmore, Goodhue, Houston, Olmsted, Wabasha and Winona.

The NWS expects showers and thunderstorms to increase in coverage and intensity across the area this afternoon, with the storms potentially becoming severe later this afternoon.
