Luke David Unverzagt, 32, of Austin, Minn., died Saturday morning, Feb. 25, 2012, from injuries received in an automobile accident near Austin, Minn.

Luke was born June 15, 1979, in Austin, Minn., the son of David H. and Janelle J. (Hunter) Unverzagt. He grew up in Austin where he attended school, graduating from Austin High School in 1997. He continued his education at Riverland Community College receiving a degree as a construction electrician in 1999. He worked for Fox Electric as an apprentice electrician before joining Hicks Electric where he worked throughout southern Minnesota. Luke was united in marriage to Sarah Ann Thomas on May 15, 2010, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. He was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Luke enjoyed being outdoors, playing golf, snowmobiling and spending time with his family and friends..

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Unverzagt of Austin; parents, David H. and Janelle J. Unverzagt of Austin; sister, Danielle (Claude) Pulliam of Austin; father and mother-in-law, Danny and Carol Thomas of Austin; brother-in-law, Chad (Rachel) Thomas of Austin; niece, Lauren Pulliam; nephews, Dillon, Conner and Charlie Thomas; grandmothers-in-law, Shirley Saaranen and Jeanette Thomas of Austin; many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herb and Joy Unverzagt and Robert and Thelma Hunter; an uncle, Scott Unverzagt and grandfathers-in-law, Lewis Thomas, Jr. and Gordon Saaranen.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin with Pastors Kristi Koppel and Jonathan Unverzagt, co-officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Worlein Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Casket bearers will be Claude Pulliam, Chad Thomas, Brad Sorensen, Kelly LaMont, Bryan Cummings and Cale Finseth. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
