Funeral services for Pedro P. Zuniga, of Hollandale, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Theodore Cemetery.

Pedro died on Feb. 11, 2012, at the Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. He was 74 years of age.

Pedro was born Oct. 19, 1937, in Valle Hermoso, Tamualipas, Mexico, the son of Aurelio and Aurora Zuniga. He attended school in Mexico. On June 17, 1961, he was united in marriage to Lidia Velazquez in Matamoros, Mexico. Together in 1975 they moved to Hollandale. He worked for many years at the Hormel Company in Austin.

Pedro enjoyed working and spending time in his garden.

Pedro is survived by his wife, Lidia, of Hollandale; children: Pedro (Maria) Zuniga Jr. of Hollandale, Lee (Renae) Zuniga of Albert Lea, Jorge (Claudia) Zuniga of Albert Lea, Roel (Rebecca) Zuniga, Arnold (Lori) Zuniga of Albert Lea and Jaime Zuniga and special friend Megan Stow of Rochester; siblings: Maria Wilborn of Albert Lea, Elida (Guadalupe) Reyes of Albert Lea, Belen Calderon of Brownsville, Texas, Agapito (Celia) Zuniga of Mexico, Olga (Reymundo) Meneses of Mexico and Carmela Zuniga of Mexico; mother and father-in-law, Marcelino (Maria) Velazquez of Brownsville, Texas; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; 26 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pedro is preceded in death by his parents: Aurelio and Aurora; son, Aurelio Zuniga; brothers: Efrian, Concepsion and Jose Angel; and grandson, Steven Zuniga.
