Riverland men fall to RCTC

The Riverland men’s basketball team saw its chances of making the state tournament come to an end when it lost to Rochester Community and Technical College 84-64 in Riverland Gym Saturday.

The Blue Devils (10-12 overall, 2-7 MCAC South), who are now mathematically eliminated from state contention, were within one point in the second half, but the Yellowjackets pulled away late.

RCC held a 47-31 advantage on the boards, but missed 18 of 20 shots from three-point land.

“We played really well, but we just don’t shoot well from the outside,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said.
