Packer boys top Scarlets

The Austin boys basketball team rattled off its fourth straight win when it beat Mankato West (2-7 overall, 1-3 Big Nine) 55-38 on the road Friday.

The Packers (6-2 overall, 3-1 Big Nine) jumped out to 32-15 lead at the half and they led by as much as 25 in the second half.

“It was probably the best basketball we’ve played all year in the first half,” Austin head coach Kris Fadness said. “We were able to run our offense through Joe Aase and Tom Aase and Zach Wessels did a good job at the point.”

Joe Aase poured in 20 points and Tom Aase had 12 points and nine rebounds.

The Packers forced 18 turnovers in the win.
