Warm weather changes race to run

The unseasonably warm temperatures forced racers to trade their skis for running shoes Saturday.
Thanks to record breaking highs and a lack of snow, the annual Kevin and Kyle Dammen Ski Race was changed to a run.
More than 40 runners still turned out for a run at around 30 degrees.
Warm temperatures are persisting through the weekend, but not at the record breaking levels seen last week.
After reaching 54 degrees Thursday, temperatures will slowly drift back toward normal. But the region will see 40s through the early part of the week.
“We should stay warm pretty much right into Tuesday,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Jeff Boyne.
Sunday’s high in Austin will be around 39, and Monday and Tuesday will both see a high of 46.
By Wednesday, the high will dip to 31. High temperatures will fall into the 20s and teens by the end of the week.
Light snow is possible Friday, but there’s only a slim chance of measurable snowfall.
Boyne said the region is “not seeing much weather of any sort right now.”
