The Vision 2020 Idea Selection Committee did its part, and now it’s the community’s turn again.

On Sunday, those chosen 91 will be revealed in a Vision 2020 special section in the Austin Daily Herald print edition, along with the official ballot and reaction from community leaders on the direction the movement is headed.

Community members can vote online starting Sunday at, or submit paper ballots found in the Herald special section at the Austin Public Library or the Austin Chamber of Commerce.

Community members are asked to pick their five favorite ideas in no priority order.

Once voting is done, the committee takes over again, finalizing the top 10 ideas by March 1, 2012. From there, the group will begin working to make the ideas to improve Austin a reality by 2020.

Why are they even bothering. They should just ask the Hormel executives what they want because thats is what is going to happen anyway.

Way to be a positive influence on the community. If you don’t like Hormel and Austin pack up your car and move to Lyle
