David and Jurine Smith of Adams, Minn., are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Nov. 8, 1961, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, Minn. The couple has been blessed with four children: Lon Smith, Rod (Cindy) Smith, Ryan (Melissa) Smith, all of Adams, and Gala (Butch) Witt of Mason City, Iowa. David and Jurine have eight grandchildren: Jessica, Dustin, Connor, Colton, Madison, Leo, Drayden and Braxton. Their children are hosting an open house at the America Legion Club in Adams from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13. The couple requests no gifts. Having their family and friends celebrate this special milestone in their lives is the best gift you can give them.
