Get ready to ride, Austin.

“We love Austin,” said George Madrigal, one of the Outlaws.

Los Outlaws formed in Texas, a group with many family ties. Rene and Vince Cardona, father and son from Albert Lea, decided to pair up with George and Jesse Madrigal, two brothers from Texas they’re related to.

The quartet specializes in old-time country music, especially Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, but they also like the tradition Mexican and Texan classics, many cancion Ranchera songs.

“We like the traditional old stuff,” George said. “We play to the audience. We play to meet the audience’s needs.”

There’s always been demand for a Hispanic band to come play Tex-Mex music in town, but the timing never worked out until now.

“This is just one style of music that we’ve had a lot of requests for,” said Denny Charnecki, local music promoter. “They’ve been asking for this forever and I figured well, it’s time.”

Charnecki hopes the band will draw residents of all sorts out to the Paramount for the dance. The band will sing in English and Spanish, so there won’t be anyone left out.

“We’re trying to put everybody together,” Vince said.

There will also be a beer garden during the performance.

Los Outlaws performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door and can be purchased at the Paramount Box Office.
