Voigt makes Blue Sox debut in win over Hayfield

The Blue Sox picked up some reinforcements to beat get their first win of the season when they topped the Hayfield Heat (4-2 overall) 8-3 in Marcusen Park Friday night.

Southland and Riverland grad Brian Voigt made his Blue Sox debut as he allowed just two hits and six innings and he also knocked in two runs.

“Hayfield is a great team and we know when July rolls around Hayfield will be in the mix for a state tournament berth,” Blue Sox player/manager Josh Kunze said.

Preston Higbe gave Austin (1-4 overall) a 2-0 lead with a two-run triple in the third inning and Brady Klingfus made it 3-0 with an RBI-single.
