21-gallon gas spill contained

Business is back to normal after Kwik Trip on Fourth Street NW endured a 21-gallon gasoline spill Wednesday afternoon.

Fire Chief Mickey Healey said the fire department was dispatched to the convenience store after one of the pumps overflowed, spilling 21 gallons of gasoline. A patron had apparently been pumping gas when the pump failed to shut off.

“We had a considerable amount of gasoline that was spilled across the lot and in the sanitary sewer system,” Healey said.

Firefighters aided with initial clean-up efforts by laying down a material that soaked up the liquid. Kwik Trip then contracted a clean-up crew to clean the rest of the spill from the lot and the sewer system.

Kwik Trip Manager Becky Waller said Thursday morning that the clean-up is complete and everything is back to normal at the store.

Waller was unable to comment on how the spill may have affected business Wednesday afternoon.

what the story fails to tell is the whole story… What this story potrays is that it was kwik trips fault… it was not.

Ask yourself… how does one not know that gas is spurting out of there tank and the nozzle hasnt shut off???

The Answer you ask??? you start filling your vehicle with gas then go in the store and go to the bathroom…

    Cant fix stupid.

    Rhino,
Since you make it sound like you were there (o brilliant one), what did you do when you realized gas was spilling? Did you help? Or did you stand and watch like I’m assuming you did. “Hmmmm, looks like a story in the making. How exciting, now I can belittle a person who obviously made a bad mistake. Why don’t I stand and watch instead of being a TRUE concerned citizen and helping”.

Sounds like no one can fix ignorant.

NEED I SAY MORE????? Because you obviously cant comprend what you read. Yes i am belittling you, you asked for it.
