Resident reports $6,000 cash stolen from home

An elderly woman reported $6,000 in cash stolen from an unlocked safe in her home on the 2700 block of 12th Street S.W.

The 87-year-old homeowner was out of town from Nov. 11 to Nov. 24.

The woman asked someone to watch the residence when she was away. That person reported a suspicious vehicle near the property during that time; however, no one was seen entering the home.

The incident is under investigation, and there are no suspects.
