Cecilia “CC” Michael Retterath
Cecilia “CC” Michael Retterath, 17 months, of Meyer, died on Aug. 19, 2008, of injuries she received in a farm accident.
Cecilia was born Feb. 28, 2007, in Rochester, Minn., the daughter of Dave and June (Simon) Retterath. “CC” enjoyed being outdoors. She liked playing with her dog and the chickens, riding her horse and swimming. She enjoyed going for a ride in her wagon to the bridge and throwing rocks in the creek. She also enjoyed reading books and loved playing with her cousins. Our beloved “CC” has gone to heaven – we will miss our “Miss Kitty” and “Baby Doll”.
“CC” is survived by her parents, Dave and June Retterath, Meyer; her expected brother or sister in late December; paternal grandparents, Barney and Betty Retterath, Meyer; maternal grandparents, Wilbur and Charlotta Simon, Osage; paternal-great-grandmother, Alma Retterath, Stacyville; aunts and uncles, Audrey (Robert) Umstead, Orchard, Terry (Missy) Simon, Hastings, Minn., Ricky (Christal) Simon, St. Paul, Minn., Carol (Jason) Tesch, St. Ansgar, Mark (Deb) Retterath, Osage, Deb (Mickey) Machacek, Solon, Cindy (Steve) Weber, Mantorville, Minn., Robin (Jim) Hendrickson, St. Ansgar, Brian (Jennifer) Retterath, Polk City, Brad (Angie) Retterath, Allyn, Washington; her many close cousins and many other extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her uncle, Michael “Hoss” Simon.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at the Sacred Heart Oratory in Meyer, with Father James Seitz and Father John Moser officiating. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meyer. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Oratory in Meyer with a scripture prayer service at 7 p.m. Champion – Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage is in charge of arrangements.
