20 acres of corn destroyed in Grand Meadow fire

An estimated 20 acres of corn was destroyed by fire Monday afternoon.
According to a Mower County Sheriff’s Office report, the fire broke out near 3 p.m. Monday in a cornfield off Mower County CSAH No. 13 about one mile west of CSAH No. 8.
The farmer, Dominic Stier, 50, of rural Grand Meadow, did not tell deputies how the fire started.
